2018 will kick off with a solid boxing card from
Turning Stone Resort Casino in
Verona, NY on
January 12th. This card, which will be televised on
Showtime, features a main event
super middleweight women's bout between two-time
Olympic Gold Medalist Claressa Shields (4-0, 2 KOs) and
Tori Nelson (17-0-3, 2 KOs).
Shields will defend her
IBF/WBC Women's Super Middleweight Title against the undefeated veteran fighter,
Nelson.
Shields, who is coming off a TKO victory over
Nikki Adler (16-1, 9 KOs) in
August, looks to continue her ascent towards boxing stardom by defeating yet another tough opponent in the women's ranks of professional boxing. The 41-year-old
Nelson, who defeated

November, looks to capture her first
IBF title over a professional career that has spanned just under eight years.
Nelson is arguably best remembered for her
